Dr. Kaitlan Baston is nationally recognized for her expertise and work across Family and Addiction Medicine.
Through her work with immigrant and homeless populations and international public health projects, her idealizations directed her to a career in primary care. Participants throughout the session will delve into the stigma and marginalization associated with addiction, and how many times both patients and medical professionals suffered from the lack of addiction medicine training in healthcare. This presentation will explore advances in the science and biology of Medication Assisted Treatment that will strengthen the work among practitioners, community providers and court related participants in the exploration of approaches that support families involving pregnant women addicted to opioids and other substances as well as children exposed prenatally.
