Alison White

Lead Child Mental Health Therapist, Preschool and Child Outpatient Clinic, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore, MD

As a clinician, Alison White, MS, LCPC advocates for equity in and access to therapeutic care for young children and their families, employing trauma-informed approaches, attachment-based principles and a systems theory lens to address a range of social, emotional, behavioral and developmental needs. She also serves as the student intern coordinator for child services, helping develop and manage a program that prepares master’s degree-level students to work with children. 

She worked with fellow community mental health employees to develop and sustain discussion groups on workplace diversity, equity and inclusion, which she continues to co-facilitate. She has also organized events to help staff build relationships, make connections and cope with stress through movement, laughter and fun. She has presented a range of behavioral health topics to community organizations in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.  

White has a master’s degree in clinical community counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She holds professional certifications in Facilitating Attuned Interactions, Circle of Security®, the Chicago Parent Program, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and infant and early childhood mental health. She also authored a chapter titled “Dance Mode and Dragons: How Family Makes Us Who We Are” in The Psychgeist of Pop Culture: Bluey from ETC Press.
