Danielle Rivera, LCSW spends her days at the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), but it’s the connection she feels to her community’s welfare that gets her up in the morning. Over the years, her strengths at DCFS have garnered recognition for early child development work through supporting training needs, participating in community forums, employing reflective practice in supervision groups and developing a policy for children from birth to age 5.
Rivera has spent 13 years supporting children of all ages and their families at their most vulnerable moments, with the goal of keeping children safe. Specializing in children ages 5 and younger, she promotes healthy relationships between parents and their children. Rivera is also enthusiastic about supporting and mentoring current and future social workers.
Rivera earned a master’s in social work from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is also an alumna of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and UCLA’s Early Childhood Fellowship program and the University of California, Davis, Napa Infant-Parent Mental Health Fellowship program.
