In her leadership position at the Colorado Department of Early Childhood, Dr. Lisa Schlueter directs several programs. For the last five years, she has worked on developing and implementing infant and early childhood mental health strategies under the Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five program.
Dr. Schlueter’s efforts have focused on identifying, understanding and promoting factors that contribute to positive early childhood development and processes of resilience, including early adult-child relationships, implementation of two-generation approaches, improved access to resources, workforce development and addressing health disparities.
In addition to her state government work, Dr. Schlueter has extensive experience in academia, research institutes, hospitals and community clinics. Her background is in psychology, stress physiology and child development.
