Dr. Morgan Crossman leads the vision and strategic plan for Vermont’s early childhood system; monitors system progress and centralizes data to inform decision-making; and serves as the primary advisor to Vermont’s governor, legislature and federal delegation on child well-being from the prenatal period to age 8 and their families. Building Bright Futures also supports accountability through Vermont’s Early Childhood Data and Policy Center.
She was recently appointed to the Policy Committee of the Society for Research in Child Development, where she advances the visibility, impact and translation of child development research into policies and practice at the global, national and state levels. She was also named one of Vermont’s Top 40 Under 40 Rising Stars of 2022 for demonstrating inspiration, excellence, social good, leadership, ingenuity and community involvement.
Dr. Crossman holds faculty appointments at the University of Vermont (UVM) and the Vermont Leadership Institute, as well as research appointments at UVM’s Center on Disability and Community Inclusion and the Institute for Child, Youth and Family Policy at Brandeis University. She holds a master’s degree in applied developmental and educational psychology from Boston College and a doctorate in social policy from Brandeis.
