Rebecca O’Neill, LCSW, CAS, is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based approaches to developmental assessment, early intervention, and therapy with individuals, groups, and families. As a DIR/Floortime®-trained therapist, certified AutPlay® therapist and certified geek therapist and therapeutic game master, she supports neurodivergent children and their families with holistic interventions that honor their individual differences, passions and needs.
She is a committed advocate for autistic children and the disability community. Inspired by the experiences of her own child and the children and families she serves, she founded Danny’s Walk, a grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to educating families, communities and legislators on the dangers of autism-related wandering and supporting legislation that addresses the unique needs of the neurodivergent community.
O’Neill also provides extensive training to parents, educators and clinical professionals in neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed approaches to inclusive education, parenting and therapy; child development; and the use and celebration of special interests and play in therapy. She earned a master’s degree in social work from Simmons University and a graduate certificate in early intervention from Georgetown University.
